A Tagine is a traditional Moroccan North African clay cooking vessel.  The characteristic tall conical lid of a tagine serves to capture steam and return moisture to the body of the tagine.

A tagine is used for slow-cooking stews or casseroles.

This beautiful handmade tagine is decorated with slip brushwork, and a clear glaze.

Different sizes of tagine are on display in our Johannesburg gallery.
